The Bunger Surf Classic kicks off at 8:00am sharp right on the sands of Gilgo Beach, a spot that has shaped countless East Coast surfers. This contest is open to surfers of all ages, making it a truly inclusive event that highlights the shared passion of our community.
The contest will feature both shortboard and longboard divisions, so whether your style is fast and progressive or classic and graceful, there’s a place for you to shine. Vintage Surfboard Sale at the Bunger Surf Shack
While the action is happening in the water, the Bunger Surf Shack at Gilgo Beach will be buzzing with another tradition: our Vintage Surfboard Sale. From 9:00am to 2:00pm, the Shack will be filled with boards that tell the story of surfing through the decades.
For collectors, this is a rare opportunity to find boards that carry the soul of earlier eras. For younger surfers, it’s a chance to hold—and maybe even ride—a piece of history. From classic single-fins to retro shapes that inspired modern designs, the sale is as much an education as it is a shopping experience.
